December 2008

It’s that time of the year for every college student in  the country to become more stressed out than ever before thanks to the doom that may be finals week.  I decided that instead of typing about the obvious stress (that I am currently not having to experience).  I wanted to type about something that is great news to all… the birth of Christ.  I realize that that is particularly cliche this time of year, but I rather enjoy the idea of God’s Son being born.  Relient K has a great Christmas song that I feel captures my thought process this.

And with this Christmas wish is missed, the point I could convey,
If only I could find the words to say to let You know how much You’ve touched my life…

And I, I celebrate the day that You were born to die,
so I could one day pray for You to save my life.

And from a lack of my persistency, we’re less than half as close as I want to be…

And the first time that You opened Your eyes did You realize that You would be my Savior?  And the first breath that left Your lips, did You know that it would change this world forever?

I know that it is crazy, but Relient K was correct in adding that Christ was born to die so that we could pray for Him to save our lives.  As finals approach, take some time and examine the Good News of the season.
